What other Events and Activities do we hold?
We publish a monthly programme which gives details of the Tuesday pub nights and all the other events that are being held during that month together with details of any future events that have been planned. Every member receives a copy of this programme which is sent to them either by post or email. You will be given a copy of the current programme on your first visit.
Below is a flavour of the events and activities that we hold and we are of course always looking for new ideas and adventures!
Eating out - This is something everyone enjoys! There's lots of opportunities to join members for a meal out for example at a restaurant, a bar meal, Sunday brunch, or a Curry Night.
Party Time - Our members can always find a reason to throw a party – it may be a themed party for example a Halloween Party, a James Bond themed night. Or it could be a member inviting other members of the Group to share a special occasion with them, or just because we fancy a party. One of our biggest annual events is the Christmas Ball which is a great opportunity to dress up, have a meal and then dance the night away.
Live music - We visit various venues in the Worcester area that have live music, especially tribute bands which are always popular. We also put on our own events with a live band or singer and organise a number of discos during the year.
Travel - We usually have at least two coach trips a year, trips in the last 12 months have been to Bristol, Oxford and Cardiff.
There are also opportunities for holidays which include trips both abroad and within the UK.
Walking & Cycling - We hold a variety of walks and cycle rides during the year and try to cater for all abilities. These usually start from a pub so that we can revive ourselves with a much deserved drink and something to eat afterwards.
Ten Pin Bowling & Skittles Evenings - Some of our members meet on a Thursday morning for a game of ten pin bowling and we also organise evening games of both ten pin bowling and skittles.
Other events and activities which have been held - As well as the more usual events some of the other things we've enjoyed are - a scalextric championship, go-karting, a Bavarian night, learning to mix cocktails, roller skating, ice skating and an annual boules championship.
How much do the events and activities cost?
The majority of events will have some sort of cost involved, details of the events including cost and deadlines for any advance payments are published in the monthly programme. We try to have a good mix of low and high cost activities with as many events as possible being subsidised from the Group's funds. Some will be partially subsidised and some will have the full cost met from our funds.
